What's your favorite song to perform live?
Anna: Tainted Red. Caitlin wrote it. It’s definitely the most punchy, hard-hitting song we have. It’s just dead fun to play.
Caitlin: I'd say Tainted Red, which is one of our own songs. I get to scream a bit which is fun. I also love to play Wannabe by the Spice Girls just because it's fantastic and we get a great crowd reaction.
Laura: I also love Tainted Red! Wannabe has to be one of my faves though, I love doing the rap!
How long have you been playing together?
Anna: Not far off three years I don’t think. We started out with five members, and ended up with three! But it’s all good.
Do you all have the same taste in guys?
Anna: I really don’t know about that. I have a long term boyfriend, but I’m not sure that we have the same taste.
Caitlin: Haha, well, we all know an attractive man when we see one but I think we do have different types.
Laura: I think we'd disagree on some guys, but we all know who's a minger and who's not!
How would you describe your music?
Anna: SEXY NOISE.
Caitlin: Hmm, tough question. Girly punk rock? We're still maturing I think. The songs we've been writing recently seem to be more together than some others that we've written. But we'll just see what the finished product is, most bands continue to develop throughout their career.
Laura: DEAD GOOD! Haha, I dunno, it's hard putting ourselves in a particular genre, I'd just say alternative rock.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
Anna: Mine, personally, would be Courtney Love, Julian Casablancas, Green Day and Dave Grohl.
Caitlin: Well, The Distillers have been a massive influence, I can't deny that. Nirvana's one as well. Whenever I hear different music it changes the way I want to write songs/sing/perform. I love music like No Doubt, Misfits, The Smiths, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Deftones, Bright Eyes... and one of my favourite bands is Mcfly, but I would rather perform more punk stuff right now.
Laura: My brother is my biggest influence! I'm inspired by people who have the guts to get up on stage and play their hearts no matter who's watching and how loved they are. Also find LostAlone very inpsiring.
Do you have any tours/shows coming up that you'd like to tell all of the lovely viewers of thegraveyardgirls.com about?
Caitlin: Tours? I wish! I can't wait to do a tour, playing shows every night in front of people who enjoy your music, it would be the best thing in the world. I think we're concentrating on writing and recording more of our own stuff at the moment.
Have you girls ever had a cat fight during a show?
Anna: No! Don’t be silly. We all love each other.
Caitlin: Haha! No, we haven't. Not that I can remember anyway. I'm not one for fights.
Laura: That'd be a sight! Naah, we're all really close and if one of us has a problem, we just talk it out.
How did you meet?
Anna: Well, me and Laura were really good friends and we were told about this brilliant, extremely young, guitarist (Caitlin)! Back then we didn’t realize how well she could scream it out.
Caitlin: I met the girls when I joined the band. I went to school with our previous singer when I was younger but we didn't really know each other. It was out of luck that I joined the band, they asked the schools guitar teacher about getting another guitarist and he suggested me, I couldn't even play power chords at the time. One of the best things that's happened to me though.
Laura: Being told about Caitlin was probably the best thing that happened to our band because without her we'd be nowhere!
Who are some of your favorite bands to play with?
Anna: It was really cool playing with Belladonna at the last gig we did, they were very inspirational.
Caitlin: Well, when we first started out we used to play gigs with the same bands all the time, and we were all friends. It was cool, but most of them have broken up now.
Laura: I agree with Anna, it was a really good experience playing with Belladonna. I love playing with anyone who has the talent.
Last Question, Are you going to tell all your friends about thegraveyardgirls.com?
Anna: NAH MATE. … Yeah of course!
Caitlin: Indeed I am.
Laura: Of course!
